Commercial Manager – A Leading Role in the UK Nuclear Sector

We are seeking an accomplished and driven Commercial Manager to join our client, the nuclear industry’s preferred partner for engineering, waste management, and decommissioning solutions operating in the Northwest UK. This is a permanent position, offering the flexibility of remote working, with occasional site visits as required.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide commercial leadership across the Consultancy and Civil Nuclear Business Units, ensuring the highest standards in contract management, bid support, and stakeholder engagement. This position requires a dynamic individual capable of balancing strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations.

Salary

£65,000pa - £70,000pa + car £550pm car allowance + excellent benefits package

Location

Northwest, UK (remote mostly)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial leadership to drive performance and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Lead on NEC contract management, offering expert guidance and support to project teams.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations, subcontract strategies, and risk management initiatives.
  • Oversee contract drafting, tender reviews, and compliance monitoring through systems such as CEMAR.
  • Support framework management, governance processes, and tender submissions.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure seamless delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A relevant university degree or professional accreditation.
  • Membership in an appropriate professional body.
  • A strong understanding of NEC contracts and significant experience in commercial or contract roles.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.

Desirable:

  • Experience with NEC3/4 contract drafting.
  • Expertise in bid preparation and risk register development.
  • Health & Safety certification (e.g., Level 2).
