CAD Design Engineer

Role is Contract, Onsite, requires SC Clearance and Inside of Scope of IR35.
Role Overview
As a CAD Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering designs that meet the exacting standards of the Nuclear and Defence industries. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to the development of cutting-edge projects, and ensure designs align with safety, functionality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed CAD models and drawings using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
- Produce technical documentation, including 2D and 3D design deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret technical specifications and deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct design reviews and implement changes as required to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Support the design verification and validation processes, ensuring adherence to client and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure designs are optimised for manufacturing, installation, and maintenance processes.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience as a CAD Design Engineer, ideally within the Nuclear, Defence, or similarly regulated industries.
- Proficient in CAD software, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, including structural integrity, thermal dynamics, and material properties.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, such as ASME, BS, or ISO.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
- SC or DV clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience in delivering designs for highly regulated environments, such as MoD or nuclear sites.
- Knowledge of design tools for analysis, such as FEA or CFD software.
