Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Bristol, Manchester, Silchester, or Glasgow (with flexibility for occasional work at client sites)

Clearance – SC Clearance or Ability to Obtain

About the Role:
We are seeking a  Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of critical defence and nuclear projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of innovative mechanical solutions that drive the success of complex engineering projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver mechanical engineering designs, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct detailed analyses and simulations to validate mechanical system performance.
  • Collaborate with project partners, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall project designs.
  • Support engineering substantiation activities, providing technical justification for designs and modifications.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and operational manuals.
  • Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and performance requirements, adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical leadership on mechanical engineering tasks, guiding teams to successful project delivery.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally within defence, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
  • A degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field, with a minimum classification of 2:1 (or equivalent).
  • Chartered status, or actively working towards it.
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for design and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in complex technical environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
