We are recruiting on behalf of a leading client within the Nuclear and Defence sector for an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS). Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role involves delivering key Quantity Surveying services to support bidding and high-profile project delivery teams across various clients. This role requires a strong background in NEC contract management and contractor-side experience. The role offers hybrid working, with the flexibility to work from the office just one day per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary commercial interface with the client, handling all discussions and negotiations.
- Provide expert commercial advice and contract interpretation to Project Managers.
- Lead the preparation, submission, and management of Compensation Events (CEs).
- Prepare and negotiate all sub-contract agreements and documentation.
- Assess and manage all sub-contract Compensation Events.
- Compile and present monthly applications for payment, liaising with clients for any amendments.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for review and completion by Project Managers.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- NEC3/4 Contract Experience: Extensive and demonstrable experience in NEC3/4 contracts.
- Main Contractor Experience: Proven track record in contractor-side roles.
- Education: HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Quantity Surveyor, with a preference for 5+ years overall experience.
- Strong knowledge of sub-contract management and preparation.
- Familiarity with QSHEW (Quality, Safety, Health, Environment, and Well-being) operating procedures.
- Proficiency in managing sensitive commercial and confidential information.
- Maintenance of both digital databases and physical records.
Working Arrangements:
- Hybrid working model with flexibility to work from the office just one day per week.
