Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager / Project Engineering Manager

Overview:
We are recruiting a Senior Engineering Manager / Project Engineering Manager on behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the [sector, e.g., Nuclear/Defence/Oil & Gas/Infrastructure]. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to engineering teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Oversee project engineering activities, from initial concept through to delivery and handover, ensuring alignment with client specifications, regulatory standards, and project objectives.
- Act as the primary interface between engineering, project management, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop, review, and approve engineering plans, designs, and project deliverables.
- Implement robust engineering management systems, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Manage risks, change controls, and technical queries, ensuring efficient problem resolution.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, codes of practice, and quality assurance processes.
- Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, supporting a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience in senior engineering/project engineering management roles within highly regulated industries (e.g., Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, or Infrastructure).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, project lifecycles, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams across complex, high-value projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risks, implement change control processes, and resolve technical issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, codes, and safety practices.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, client engagement, and effective communication at all levels.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, or PMI certifications are advantageous)
- Degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related fields).
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable track record of successful project delivery in regulated sectors.
