**Senior EC&I Engineer – North West** Long term contract - outside of scope of IR35 pending determination


A leading design and project management contractor are looking for a Senior EC&I Engineer to work on a variety of civil nuclear projects based in the North west. The Senior EC&I Engineer will be pivotal in delivering low voltage electrical engineering design and control system architecture design. While nuclear experience is not essential, the ability to attain a minimum level of SC Clearance is essential.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Develop and oversee engineering design documentation, including load schedules, cable schedules, instrument lists, and data sheets.
- Conduct and guide engineering design calculations, proficiently using cable calculation software and Dialux.
- Produce and manage engineering drawings, such as single line diagrams, schematics, panel GA's, equipment location drawings, safety configuration diagrams, termination diagrams, loop diagrams, and cable routing diagrams.
- Create and oversee engineering substantiation, operational, maintenance, commissioning documentation, technical files, and lifetime quality records.
- Supervise and govern sub-contractors during procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning phases.

**Qualifications and Skills**

- Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not essential.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Senior Engineer role or similar within a highly regulated industry.
- Experience across all project lifecycle stages.
- Familiarity with BS EN 61508 and ONR Licence condition 15 (Periodic Review).
- Knowledge of ATEX.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in authoring documentation and producing design deliverables.
- Competence in Microsoft 365 products.
- Organisational skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
