EC&I Engineer

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an EC&I Engineer to join one of the UK's leading construction and engineering solutions company on a long term contract basis. This is a contract role, Hybrid and is Outside of Scope of IR35.

This role offers a mix of work from technical assurance to detailed design, giving you the opportunity to utilise your expertise in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation. You’ll be working on projects such as LV distribution, lighting and small power, building services, water treatment packages, control panels, and telemetry systems. This role will also involve client-facing responsibilities, so strong communication and stakeholder management skills are key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise across Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation disciplines.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to deliver high-quality design and assurance services.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered to their expectations.
  • Contribute to safety and risk management processes with a strong focus on compliance and quality.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of equipment, with attention to CE marking, Atex, PED, Low Voltage, Machinery Directive, and EMC Compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering (Apprenticeships may be considered).
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body, or working towards it.
  • Proven experience in delivering EC&I engineering projects across the Nuclear, Aviation, or Water sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of UK legislation and industry standards.
  • Experience in installation of equipment in potentially explosive areas.
  • Comprehensive understanding of design practices and installation requirements.
  • Experience within the Nuclear sector is highly desirable.
